Herald Special Service.

International Falls, Sept. 14.—Three prominent men from Fort Blanchard, Man., lost their lives today when their steel canoe, guaranteed not to sink in case of capsizing, went down like lead.

The dead are:

H. J. SISSONS.

JOHN LOCKHEART.

ATKINSON, initials not known.

The accident occurred in the Rainy river at the rapids, the men being on their way to Rainy lake. The boat caught in a whirlpool and capsized, its occupants being unable to save themselves. The boat was one which the men purchased under the strict guarantee that it would not sink if capsized. Sissons is a very prominent lawyer of Manitoba and leaves a wife an two children. Lockheart is the owner of the steamer Majestic. He, too, leaves a wife and family. Atkinson was a single man.
